Description
Spin is often the class that people feel most nervous about getting started with. You walk past a studio and it sounds loud, intense and hard work - it would be easy to assume you have to be super fit to take part. When I started my Spin journey, I was one of those scared individuals!
However, after attending a few sessions, I realised that everyone was a beginner and that the fitness and technique can be obtained with practice, an encouraging instructor, a supportive team of riders around you and most importantly, the new riders' desire to challenge themselves physically and mentally.
It is one of the best activities for all-round fitness, weight-loss and improving lung capacity and endurance - outcomes that can benefit all aspects of your health and the things you enjoy in life!
I want to remove any negative reputation attached to Spin by creating an inclusive, safe environment for new riders to come in and feel they can reach their potential and build their confidence and technique over time. The mental health of the rider is something I keen to tap into to help them be the best they can be - as the dopamine release at the end of a class feels fantastic!
From a physical health perspective, I would really like to focus on increasing cardiovascular fitness exploring ranges of cadence and a variety of techniques and intervals with standing and sitting variations to utilise different muscle groups as the rider goes through the segments.
Each week I plan to help build confidence for new riders so when the workshop ends they have the confidence to attend the many amazing classes offered at New Energy Fitness.
